Stan Haegert, MD, MPH

Rev. Stan Haegert MD MPH

Dr. Stan Haegert is a board certified family physician who is passionate about helping healthcare professionals learn to care for themselves while serving others.

Stan and his wife Deb served as medical missionaries in The Gambia, West Africa, working with the mission for the better part of two decades. Stan’s experience of burnout, recovery and return to the mission field has given him a strong desire to help others learn the rhythms of work and rest that Jesus so perfectly modeled.

As the Associate Director of CMDA’s Center for Member Well Being, Stan enjoys frequent opportunities to teach about wellness to healthcare providers, missionaries, and other groups. The Haegerts also maintain a personal website (www.servingwithjoy.org) which offers insights on burnout and resilience development as well as links to other helpful sites.

Dr. Haegert received his B.S. in medical technology and his M.D. from Michigan State University. He completed a residency in family medicine in Saginaw, MI, and also earned an M.P.H. in International Health from the University of Michigan.

Stan and Deb recently moved to Colorado to be closer to their two adult daughters, son-in-law and grandsons. When not singing 70’s music in local coffee houses, Stan is usually looking for a good game of chess.
