Integrating Faith into Medical Practice

  • Breakout Session
  • Business Building 251
  • October 5 2019 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
  • 1 Hour CE

Our patients come to us with emotional, spiritual, intellectual and physical needs. Best practice requires us to address all four quadrants. Many (most?) healthcare professionals (HCPs) practice reductionistic medicine after the model of their training. Many HCPs have received no training how to broach the spiritual component or needs of our patients. So what should it look? What can we do? This workshop will provide us with simple steps we can take to move like fully integrating our faith into practice regardless of specialty.

Objectives
—Discuss the importance of leadership and mentoring when working with healthcare students and postgraduate trainees.
—Utilize a domestic healthcare setting in private practice or academic setting to care for the underserved in a caring way.
