This workshop will present the needs, opportunities and rewards for using healthcare education to serve the Lord in missions globally, both in long-term and short-term settings.
Teaching as a Mission Field – James D. Smith, MD
Dr. Smith will discuss the importance of healthcare education as an opportunity to serve in missions using Jesus as an example of the ultimate teacher. Needs, opportunities, preparation and cultural considerations will be discussed.
My Journey Using Surgical Education to Serve the Lord – David Thompson, MD
Dr. Thompson will tell his very personal study of how the Lord called him to full-time missions and gave him the vision for using surgical education to start the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons.
